The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Kennedy Middle School plays a vital role in building a strong school community and supporting student success.
The PTO does this in a number of ways including:
Supporting Students and Staff
Fundraising: Organizes events to raise money for educational resources, field trips, classroom supplies, technology, and school improvements.
Staff Appreciation: Plans appreciation events, meals, or gifts for teachers and staff to boost morale.
Student Enrichment: Sponsors extracurricular activities, assemblies, or programs that enhance student learning and development.
Encouraging Family Engagement
Building Community: Hosts family-friendly events such as movie nights, cultural celebrations, or open houses to help families connect with one another and with school staff.
Communication Bridge: Helps keep parents informed about school activities, volunteer opportunities, and important updates through social media and PTO meetings.
Advocacy: Represents parent voices in discussions with school administration and sometimes school district leadership.
Volunteering: Coordinates parent volunteers to support school events, classroom needs, or special programs.
Partnership: Works closely with school staff to align efforts with the school’s goals and needs.
